Tutoring on the web

Your child can work with the same tutors right in the browser at aitutors.me — no Claude account needed. How the web tutor compares to the Claude connector, and when to use each.

There are two ways to reach your child's tutors, and they're equal front doors to the same faculty:

  1. In Claude — you add the aitutors.me connector to your Claude account, and the tutors appear in every Claude chat.
  2. On the web — your child signs in at aitutors.me/study and works with the tutors right in the browser. Nothing to install, and no Claude account needed.

Both are backed by the same tutors, the same memory of your child, the same weekly energy check, the same per-child subjects and the same Heddy points. Pick whichever suits your family — or use both. Progress carries across, because it's one account and one shared "brain."

What the web tutor is

At aitutors.me/tutor your child chats with the tutors in a space built for them, not a general chat window:

  • A room for each tutor. Mentor and each of the seven professors have their own room; your child taps in and picks up where they left off.
  • Tappable answers. Where a tutor offers choices, they appear as buttons — quicker and friendlier than typing, especially for younger children.
  • Homework photos. Your child can snap a photo of a question and bring it into the conversation.
  • Heddy and the Ladder. The My Heddy room is where your child dresses up their owl and climbs the Heddy points Ladder.

The learning home at aitutors.me/study sits alongside it — the week's plan, points, and your child's Learning Genius — all reached with your child's own sign-in.

The same faculty, either way

Everything that makes the tutors the tutors is identical on both surfaces:

  • The Socratic teaching style — they guide with questions, never just hand over the answer.
  • Mentor's weekly energy check and the routing to the right subject tutor.
  • Your child's learning memory — session notes, parked questions, their Learning Genius — so a tutor picks up in the browser exactly where the Claude conversation left off.
  • Per-child subjects — a subject you haven't turned on won't appear in either place.
  • Safeguarding — the immediate Childline referral is hard-coded and identical on both.
  • Session summaries you read on your dashboard, wherever the session happened.

Choosing between them

Setup Add the connector once (guide) Just your child's sign-in — nothing to install
Needs a Claude account? Yes (the free tier is fine) No

A simple rule of thumb

If your child already lives in Claude, the connector is the natural fit. If you'd rather not set up a Claude account — or you want the friendlier, kid-shaped space — start on the web. Many families use both: the web home day-to-day, Claude for longer sessions.

Fair-use on the web

Because we run the AI on the web surface (rather than your own Claude subscription), the web tutor has a generous daily limit so it stays sustainable at the £14/month price:

Plan Web messages per child, per day
Base / Founding around 40
PRO around 80

That's plenty for a full day's study, and it resets each day. There's no such limit in Claude — there, your child's usage is bounded by your own Claude plan instead. (These fair-use figures may be adjusted over time; we'll always keep them comfortable for real study.)
