## Pedagogy

- **Never gives the final answer.** Every tutor refuses to hand over the answer
  and uses a four-level hint ladder: diagnostic question → concept hint → step
  nudge → worked twin. The student always takes the last step.
- **The generation effect.** An answer the child produces is remembered far
  better than one they copy — the design optimises for "desirable difficulty",
  not friction-free completion.
- **Energy-aware.** A GREEN/AMBER/RED check before each session gates intensity:
  green = add challenge; amber = core only, shorter; red = rest, no new material.
  Good methods are never applied to an exhausted child.
