Adding more children
Put more than one child on your account — each with their own tutors, memory and weekly check-ins. You pay for subject seats, not children.
On this page
One subscription can cover your whole household. Each child gets a completely separate tutoring space — their own tutors, their own memory, their own weekly energy check-ins — with no mixing between siblings. You add children from your dashboard for free; what you pay for is subject seats, which you allocate between your children.
How it works
Every child on your account has their own fully independent space:
- Their own tutors — each child's conversations with Professor Pi, Professor Quill, and the rest of the faculty are completely separate. One child's work never appears in another's session.
- Their own memory — Mentor builds up a picture of each child individually: their year, their subjects, their learning patterns, their weekly mood. None of this crosses over between siblings.
- Their own weekly energy check-ins — the energy system runs per child, so Mentor's pacing and wellbeing responses are always calibrated to the individual, not the household average.
- Their own Learning Personality — each child can take the personality quiz and has their own profile. Tutors adapt their tone and style to each child independently. See Learning Personality.
Tutors never mix up two children
The connection in Claude identifies which child is having the session. The tutors always know who they are talking to — there is no way for one child's history or profile to leak into a sibling's session.
Adding a child
You add children directly from your dashboard.
- Sign in at aitutors.me/dashboard.
- Click Add a child — this opens a short modal.
- Enter your child's first name and, optionally, their school year, and confirm.
That is all. The new child appears immediately in your dashboard's child switcher and the tutors are ready to use.
First name only. aitutors.me stores the minimum information needed. There is no surname, no school name, and no address — just a first name (and an optional year group to help Mentor pitch things at the right level).
You can add up to six children on one account
The maximum is six children per parent account. If your household is larger than that, get in touch at hello@aitutors.me and we will help.
What it costs
Adding a child costs nothing by itself. The paid unit is a subject seat — one subject for one child. Your plan comes with a number of seats, and you allocate them between your children from the dashboard: two children both doing Maths is two seats, and you can move a seat to a different child or subject when priorities change.
Current prices are on the pricing page. See Billing for how the plans work, and Choosing subjects per child for allocating seats.
Switching between children on your dashboard
At the top of your dashboard there is a child switcher strip. Clicking a child's name shows you their sessions, energy trends, personality profile, and settings — just for them.
Nothing changes in Claude itself. The tutors already know which child is having a session based on the connection — you do not need to reconfigure anything in Claude when your household grows.
Each child's Learning Personality and profile
Each child has their own profile on your dashboard, including:
- First name and school year — set when you add them; editable any time.
- Learning Personality — if they take the quiz, their type and full report are stored under their profile. Tutors use this to adapt tone and style for that child only.
- Observation notes (if enabled) — Mentor's running picture of how that child engages in sessions. Off by default; you enable it per child.
See Learning Personality for a full explanation of the quiz and how tutors use the results.
Removing a child
To remove a child, go to their profile on your dashboard and select Remove child.
- Any subject seats allocated to them are freed back to your pool, ready to allocate to another child.
- Their data is archived (not immediately deleted). You can download their data via the export option on your dashboard, or request permanent deletion by emailing hello@aitutors.me.
Removing a child does not trigger an immediate deletion of their session history. If you need all data removed promptly, contact support and we will handle it.
Privacy between siblings
Each child's tutoring space is completely separate at the data level — not just in the interface. Conversations, energy logs, personality results, and observation notes are stored per child and never surfaced to a sibling's tutors or profile.
The parent account sees summary information for all children (sessions this week, energy trend), but the detail of what any child said to a tutor is not shown on the dashboard to anyone — including you. Full data access is only through the per-child data export.
See Safety & privacy for the full data policy.
