Your child's web sign-in

Give your child their own username and password for the web learning home — set it up in your dashboard, and choose whether they stay signed in on their device.

Alongside the tutors in Claude, your child can open a web learning home at aitutors.me/study — where Heddy greets them, they pick up their week, and they earn Heddy points. They sign in there with their own username and password, which you create. It's separate from your parent account: your child never needs your email or your login.

Set up your child's sign-in

You create and manage each child's login from your dashboard:

  1. Open your dashboard and go to Children.
  2. Next to a child, choose Set up sign-in (or Manage login if one already exists).
  3. Pick a username for them — something they'll remember, not their full name.
  4. We generate a password and show it to you once. Write it down or hand it straight to your child; for their privacy we don't store it in a form you (or we) can read back later.

That's it — your child can now sign in at aitutors.me/study.

The password is shown once

We only ever store a scrambled version of the password, so it can't be shown again. If it's lost, that's fine — you can set a new one any time (see below). No need to keep the original.

What your child does

At aitutors.me/study your child enters their username and password and taps Start learning. A few friendly touches:

  • Show/hide password. The eye icon in the password box lets them check what they've typed — handy for younger children.
  • "Keep me signed in on this device." A tick-box under the password. See the next section for what it does.
  • "I'm a parent." A link at the bottom that takes you to your own parent sign-in instead — so a shared device can flip between the two.

Staying signed in

The tick-box decides how long the sign-in lasts:

Choice Stays signed in for
Left un-ticked (default) The rest of the session — the sign-in clears when the browser is fully closed.
Ticked About 30 days on that device, so your child can reopen the learning home without signing in again.

Even un-ticked, a sign-in lasts a good while — roughly a school day and evening — so a short break doesn't sign them out.

Which should we use?

On a shared or family device, leave it un-ticked so the next person doesn't land in your child's account. On your child's own phone, tablet or laptop, ticking it saves them typing the password every time — the gentler daily habit.

Managing a login later

From Dashboard → Children, for any child you can:

  • Reset the password — generates a fresh one (shown once) if the old one is lost or you'd like to change it.
  • Change the username — if the first choice didn't stick.
  • Switch the login off — pauses web access for that child without deleting anything; switch it back on whenever you like.

If your child gets locked out: too many wrong password attempts temporarily locks the account (they'll see "ask a parent to unlock"). Just come to Dashboard → Children and unlock it — or reset the password if they've forgotten it.

Web home and the Claude connector

The two work together and share the same account:

  • The Claude connector is where the tutoring conversations happen — Mentor and the professors, in Claude. See Connect to Claude.
  • The web learning home at /study is where your child sees their week, their Heddy points and their Learning Genius, in a space built for them.

Your per-child subject choices apply to both — a subject you haven't turned on won't appear in either place.
