01Is there a free option?
Yes. On the free tier your child makes a learner login (an owl name or an email, no card), picks one subject, and gets 20 turns a week with that subject's professor and Mentor. A turn is one chat with a tutor, up to about twenty of your child's messages. New turns arrive each Monday. Flashcards, a timed practice run on their own cards, the map and the Learning Genius quiz are part of it, and once a grown-up joins, the weekly report comes to them. The free tier is a limited offer. Just looking? The Demo is 10 rounds with a live tutor and a pre-set persona, with no sign-up at all. More subjects, as much tutor time as they need, exam preparation and timed practice papers come with PRO.

Your child's subjects open as soon as the payment is confirmed. There is nothing to install: they sign in on this website and start.

03What does PRO include?
PRO is £120 a month per subject, per child, or £408 a term, which is 15% less. In each subject your child has their own professor, as much as they need: hints and questions, never the answer handed over. They can set an exam, with a countdown and a tutor who teaches towards it, and sit timed practice papers for the 11+ and the UK Maths Challenges. They set their own aims on a map of every topic from Year 7 to GCSE, and you get a report each week. Swap a subject for another, or give it to another child, any time, at no extra charge. Monthly cancels any month; termly cancels at term end.
04Can I change subjects later?
Yes. Nothing is fixed. Swap a subject for another, or give it to another child, any time from your dashboard, at no extra charge. Adding a subject adds to what you pay; changing one does not.
05Monthly or termly: what is the difference?
Nothing in the tutoring. Monthly is £120 per subject (Max £320), billed each month, and you can cancel any month. Termly is one payment for the 4-month term, £408 (Max £1,088), which is 15% less, and you cancel at term end. You can switch from monthly to termly whenever you like.
06Does PRO cover 11+ and 13+ entrance exam preparation?
Yes. Entrance-exam preparation is part of PRO, not a separate add-on. Your child sets the exam and its date, a countdown starts, and their tutors teach towards it. The 11+ practice room has timed papers in Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-verbal Reasoning. The Maths and English papers need that subject on your plan; the two Reasoning subjects need only the plan. For the 13+ there are tutors and flashcards, and no practice papers yet. One honest limit: we never give a readiness number or predict a pass.
07What is the difference between PRO and Max?
Max is everything in PRO, plus a human Coach of their own each week and a tutor built for their competition at £320 a month or £1,088 a term, per subject.
08I have two children. Do I pay twice?
You pay per subject, per child, on one parent account. Each child has their own login, their own tutors and their own progress, so siblings never mix. A subject can be moved from one child to another at any time.
09Is VAT included? Can I cancel?
Yes to both. Prices include UK VAT: the price you see is the price you pay. The free tier and the Demo are free. Monthly plans cancel any month and termly plans cancel at term end, both from your dashboard, with no penalty.
10Why is termly cheaper?
Paying for the 4-month term up front is 15% less than monthly: £408 (Max £1,088) against the £480 and £1,280 list.
11How do I try it before I pay?
Start on the free tier: your child signs in, picks a subject and begins. Just looking? The Demo gives you 10 rounds with no sign-up. When they want more subjects, more time or exam practice, move up to PRO.
12What is Heddy Merit Place?
It's a merit place. If your child has won an academic-excellence prize at school or an award from a recognised national competition (for example the UK Junior Mathematical Challenge), you can apply for a personalised AI tutor in that subject at £14/month per subject. It's application-gated with proof of award, has no human Coach, and places are limited.
13Do I need to pay to use the flashcards?
No. The whole Atlas is free: every KS3 deck, no account, no card, no daily limit. What a learner login adds is the part a deck of cards cannot do: a live conversation with the professor who teaches that subject, cards made from their own sessions, and a schedule that brings each card back. Without a login, cards are not scheduled.
