Safety & privacy
How aitutors.me keeps your child safe and your data private — built-in safeguarding, UK GDPR, no model training on conversations, and parent control.
aitutors.me is built for UK secondary students, and your child's safety and your family's privacy come first. Here is exactly how that works, in plain terms.
Safeguarding is built in
Every session starts with Mentor, who watches for any sign that your child is struggling. If anything suggests distress, Mentor stops the lesson immediately and replies, word for word:
"If you're struggling, please talk to a parent or call Childline 0800 1111."
It then gently encourages your child to talk to a trusted adult. This behaviour cannot be turned off or overridden — it is a hard rule built into Mentor, not an optional setting. For our full approach, see the safeguarding policy.
The account belongs to you
The subscription and account belong to the parent. You sign in, you manage billing, and you stay in control. Your child uses the tutors inside your Claude account — there is no separate child login for you to manage.
Your data and privacy
- UK GDPR. aitutors.me is designed to comply with UK data-protection law, and we are ICO registered.
- Conversations are deleted on a rolling 30-day basis — they are not kept indefinitely.
- No model training. Your child's conversations are never used to train any AI model — ours or anyone else's.
- No selling data. We do not sell your or your child's personal information.
For the complete detail, see our privacy policy.
Staying on task
The tutors are tuned for UK KS3 (roughly ages 11–14) and stay focused on schoolwork. If a session drifts somewhere unproductive, the tutor gently brings it back to learning — or, when it is clearly time to stop, winds the session down kindly rather than carrying on.
