The recommended way to connect. You do this once in your browser — no files, no terminal — and the tutors appear automatically in Claude Desktop and the mobile apps too.

Before you start

  • Make sure you are signed in at aitutors.me/install in the browser you are using right now. The sign-in step at the end of this process is near-instant only because aitutors.me already knows who you are in this browser.
  • Have your Client ID to hand — it is displayed on that same page and looks like aitutors-0442a661-….

Steps

  1. On your install page, click "Open Claude →". A new tab opens on the Claude.ai Connectors settings page.

  2. Click Add custom connector (BETA).

  3. The form that opens will be blank — Claude does not pre-fill it. Paste these values one by one:

    Name

    aitutors.me tutors

    Remote MCP server URL (or "Server URL")

    https://aitutors.me/mcp

  4. Expand Advanced settings.

    Required — do not skip

    The OAuth Client ID field says optional. It is not optional here. Paste your personal aitutors-… ID (from your install page) into this field. Without it, Claude cannot tell which subscription to use and the connection will not work.

    Leave OAuth Client Secret blank.

  5. Click Add.

  6. Claude will briefly redirect to aitutors.me to confirm your identity. Because you are already signed in here in this same browser, this approval step is near-instant — you may see a quick flash and then return to Claude.

    If a sign-in page appears instead

    This means the browser or profile you are using for claude.ai is different from the one where you are signed into aitutors.me. Open aitutors.me/install in this same browser, sign in there, then come back to claude.ai and click Add again. The approval window gives you about 60 seconds; if it expires, just click Add once more.

Confirm it worked

  • Open a new chat in Claude. The aitutors.me tutors connector should appear in the tools section with 8 tools listed.
  • Back on your install page, the "Connected ✓" badge will light up once the connector has made its first live request. If it still shows "Not connected yet", click Re-check after sending your child's first message to a tutor.
