Inverse operationsFree13:57Heddy Score 3 of 7, below the standard
What you need to know
- Expand any brackets first by multiplying the outside term by every term inside.
- Collect like terms on each side of the equation.
- If the unknown is on both sides, remove the smaller x-term so the coefficient stays positive.
- Use inverse operations in reverse order to isolate the unknown, doing the same to both sides.
- Check the answer by substituting it back into the original equation.
