Diffusion

DiffusionFree1:35Heddy Score 3 of 7, below the standard

What you need to know

  • Diffusion is particles spreading from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration.
  • The cell does not have to supply energy for it.
  • Oxygen moves this way from the air in the lungs into the blood, where its concentration is lower.
  • Some particles cross a membrane more readily through proteins, which is called facilitated diffusion.
