Osmosis
OsmosisFree6:26Heddy Score 3 of 7, below the standard
What you need to know
- Osmosis is water moving across a partially permeable membrane, and it does not use energy from the cell.
- Water moves from a more dilute solution towards a more concentrated one.
- A cell placed in pure water gains water because its contents are the more concentrated side.
- Root hair cells take up water from wet soil in the same way, and a plant cell wall stops the cell bursting.
