Resistance: what opposes current

What you need to know
- A longer wire has a greater resistance than a shorter one of the same material.
- A fair test keeps the current small so the wire does not heat up, because heating raises resistance.
- Resistance is found from readings of potential difference and current at each length.
- Check meters read zero before starting so readings are not offset.
