Desertification: causes and solutions
Desertification: causes and solutionsFree1:58Heddy Score 3 of 7, below the standard
What you need to know
- Desertification is when land on the edge of a desert becomes dry and less fertile.
- Causes include climate change and the way people use the land, such as overgrazing and cutting too much vegetation.
- The land then supports less farming, so people and the environment both suffer.
- The damage can be slowed by managing soil and water and by planting trees.
