Jekyll and Hyde: Dr Jekyll
Jekyll and Hyde: Dr JekyllFree5:50Heddy Score 3 of 7, below the standard
What you need to know
- Jekyll first appears as a respected, kind and wealthy Victorian gentleman.
- In his final statement he admits hiding youthful 'irregularities' with a 'morbid sense of shame'.
- Jekyll is not wholly good: he wanted a way to indulge hidden desires, so the potion released Hyde.
- He gradually loses control as Hyde appears unbidden, and his promise that he can be rid of Hyde echoes an addict's denial.

As reported by YouTube on 2026-11-02. Not part of the Heddy Score. Why we picked it
Gives a clear, quote-backed reading of Jekyll as a mixed character rather than the purely good half.
