What counts as a resource
What counts as a resourceFree3:37Heddy Score 3 of 7, below the standard
What you need to know
- A resource is anything we use to meet our needs, from water and coal to roads and people's skills.
- Natural resources are renewable if they replace themselves, like sunlight, wind and forests, or non-renewable if they take millions of years to form, like coal and oil.
- Human-made resources such as roads and machines are made by changing natural resources.
- Overusing resources causes pollution, loss of forests and wildlife, and shortages.
- Sustainable development means meeting today's needs while keeping resources for future generations.
